The Security Chief for our co-working space plays a pivotal role in creating a safe and secure environment that fosters productivity and trust among members.
It is essential to strike a balance between security and the open, collaborative nature of co-working spaces.
He has to be first responder on site for any security breaches or security requirements.
He has to be a resident of Mangaluru.
Ability to grow along with the business and scale up our security requirements wether surveillance or recruitment of additional security personal for current and future properties.
Should be able to fill in at Reception desk when one of the receptionist is off-duty/leave/vacation/late evening.

Strong communication skills : Courteous, well-mannered and polished with effective communication skills to help in collaborating with other departments, customers, visitors, stakeholders and clients. (Local languages: Kannada, Tulu and English)
Customer focus & client servicing skills : Proactive & Decisiveness: A Chief of Security should have the confidence and alertness of mind to make tough and quick decisions under pressure by finding practical solutions to a wide range of security problems.
Should be able to deal with nuisance characters as part of an escalation matrix and quickly resolve matters discreetly with causing any negative impact to the brand
Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and diplomacy and diffuse any aggressive situations with clients quickly to avoid and brand damage.
Key Responsibilities :
Security Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement security plans and strategies tailored to the specific needs of the co-working space. This may include assessing security risks, identifying vulnerabilities, and creating security policies and procedures.
Access Control: Manage access control systems, including key cards or electronic passes, to ensure that only authorised individuals can enter the co-working space. Work with the visitor management system to track guests and ensure they are properly identified.
Surveillance and Monitoring: Regularly review footage to identify any security breaches or suspicious activities. Install new cameras if needed and maintain security cameras and monitoring systems throughout the co-working space.
Physical Security: Ensure the physical security of the space, including locks, alarms, and physical barriers to prevent unauthorised access. Conduct regular security assessments and recommend improvements as needed.
Emergency Response: Develop and communicate emergency response plans to handle incidents such as fires, medical emergencies, or security breaches. Train staff and members on what to do in case of an emergency and conduct drills at regular intervals
Security Personnel: Monitor security personnel such as security guards to provide a visible security presence on all floors
Member Education: Educate coworking space members about security best practices, including the importance of locking their workstations and belongings, not sharing access codes, and reporting any suspicious activity.
Incident Response: Establish a protocol for responding to security incidents, such as theft, vandalism, or harassment. Work with local law enforcement when necessary and cooperate with investigations.
Cybersecurity: Ability learn the basics in cyber security (secure Wi-Fi networks, firewalls etc.) to assist and help networking admins to track or secure any online security breaches.
Collaboration with Management: Work closely with the co-working space management team to align security policies and procedures with the overall objectives and mission of the space.
Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with security equipment vendors and service providers to ensure that security systems are operational and up-to-date.
Compliance: Stay informed about relevant security regulations and compliance requirements in your region and ensure that the co-working space complies with them.
Budget Management: Manage the security budget, including allocating resources for security upgrades/staff and maintenance when the need arises.
Member Feedback: Be receptive to member feedback and concerns related to security, and take appropriate actions to address their needs.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve security measures and procedures based on emerging threats and lessons learned from incidents.
Qualifications :
Ex-Police or Ex-Military; around 35 years of age; Fit and without any physical impediments
A diploma or some back-ground in - Security Administration or Management, or a related field
10-15 years experience in managing co-working spaces or related hospitality industries.
Excellent spoken communication skills in Kannada, Tulu and English
Strong leadership and team skills..
Good to have - Knowledge of relevant technology solutions for security management.
Should be able to deal with nuisance characters as part of an escalation matrix
Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Familiarity with local regulations and safety standards.
